Water Challenge (Marcie)

Okay so I am a few pounds overweight from the holidays...anyone else???? At any rate...I read that if you divide your weight in half that is the amount of ounces that you need to drink daily in order to cleanse and promote weight loss etc.....so for instance a 200 pound person would drink half there weight of 100 ounces of water....so I am really giving this a go with some exercise...but the key the author said as you all probably know the above statement.....but the key is that you have to consume the first 8 ounces within 30 minutes of waking and continue with at minimum of 8 oz an hour after that.... Tea, juice, soda or other does NOT count....I have actually seen a result from this....I have not been exercising as much as drinking my H2O....So there ya go...Thought you might like to know what I have discovered...For me I am looking at close to 100oz of water daily...I felt like I was drowning at first! : ) Good Luck Everyone with the Water Drinking Challenge

Hello Everyone! Here are a few photo's of the Kevin and Marcie Hayes Clan....we are all here except for Lindsay....So a quick run down the photo of all of us on the couch is in our new home Amanda 23, Mike 21 (looks just like his dad), Jamie 24 (our someday son-in law), me and my Kevin better known as Topo Gigio..long story...in Amanda's arms is Bella our then 8 week old puppy. Bella is Kevin's Christmas gift from Marcie...The other pics are pretty easy to identify of Amanda and Jamie at Disneyland, a cruise to Jamaica and a Christmas photo in Jamie's moms backyard...Amanda is a senior at Cal Poly majoring in English. She graduates in June 2008...Yippie...we are so proud of her...Jamie is a High School Math teacher....and Mike is an inspiring 21 year old that loves to surf, snowboard and if I may say myself Mike is the sweetest 21 year old male that I have ever known...he has a spirit that is gentle, generous and caring....Lindsay 13 in February is not pictured..Kevin and I are so proud of all the kids and LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH!!!

Baked Custard

This recipe is from the Lion House cookbook. I have not personally made it, but everything else I have made from the cookbook has been great. Here ya go!

BAKED CUSTARD

4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup table cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
Nutmeg (optional)

Beat eggs; add milk, cream, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Strain into individual custard cups set into a pan of hot water. Sprinkle nutmeg on custard, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes. Custard is cooked when knife inserted near center comes out clean. Remove from water to cool. Chill and serve in cups. (Custard may be baked in a 1 1/2 - or 1 - quart casserole instead of in individual cups.) Makes 6 to 8 servings.

This was such a fun time, we need to do this again, and why we didn't get a big picture with all of us I will never guess, if any of you have one send it my way...

OK so here is our new Family blog... I am super excited to do this and I hope everyone else is as happy to do this and I am... Remember anything you want to be posted can be posted from pics of your kids or of you and spouse to tips on cooking, shopping, the latest and greatest in fashion... Whatever you want just email me it and the link of pic and I will get it posted... This will be a great way of keeping all of us in touch with whats new.... OK well hope you all enjoy this and hopefully everyone will participate... The day we took these pictures was a funny day and very enjoyable for all of us. I know we have all changed but this is one of the last photos that I have of all of us together... Well at least all of us sisters, we need to get David and Dad in them or better yet we need to have a family picture... That would be nice...
